THE TRILOGY OF FIREFLIES

In the early 60’s, because of air and water pollution, fireflies began to disappear in the countryside.
This phenomenon was terrible. After few years, the fireflies were no longer there. P. Paolo Pasolini, one of the best voices of poetry we had, called this “the disappearance of the fireflies.”
The dramaturgical research of this trilogy started as a large spiral of languages from the southern Italy regions. The staging was not the main purpose: these shows were born from a strong will to tell about a folkloric world, in order to recuperate, through theatre, ancient wisdoms and magic beliefs…
